Unboxing My COCOTIQUE Summer Essentials Box!

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate to win an Instagram giveaway sponsored by COCOTIQUE, a deluxe beauty box subscription service for women of color and diverse ethnicities. It's a monthly box that costs $20, including sample and full sizes of various products! 

 My box, the June 2016 edition, just came in the mail and I am very satisfied and excited to try everything out! Check out what came in the box and how I plan to use everything!!!

Hallelu!!! This brand of edge control is literally one of the TWO brands in the world that actually work for my hair! This comes just in time for the NABJ convention next week!

Necessary. I'm big on lipstick, but not always so big on lip care. I'm also prone to bite my lips when I'm nervous, so this seems like just the thing I need to give my lips a nice healing.

I have never heard of this stuff before! Apparently it's a smarter alternative to shaving cream, giving a close shave while also conditioning the skin. I can't wait to see how it works!

Hallelu again! I've heard great things about this mascara by Naughty Cosmetics, so I'm excited to give it a try for my birthday glow! Pics coming soon to an Instagram timeline near you.

(Sorry for the blurry photo???) This is a leave-in treatment for hair! My hair is usually a hit or miss wit liquid leave ins, so I'll probably test this out and if I don't like it, give it away!

I'm very very pumped to try this product! It's a styling lotion that can help with rod sets! If you watched my perm rod video on YouTube, you know I mentioned disappointment in my gel of choice. Hopefully this will be a nice alternative.

Ohhhhh baby. I've never tried any of Shea Moisture's lines for body and skin, so I can't wait to get dirtied up just so I can take this Superfruit body wash and oil for a run.

Bienvenidos a Argentina: Be Kind to Yourself

Today marks the end of 2017's first full week! I hope the year is off to a rejuvinating start for everyone. Oh, and today also marks the end of my first week in Buenos Aires, Argentina! For those of you who don't know, I'll be interning here until the end of March. As any journalist would, I definitely did my homework on Argentina before getting here. The food, the music, the culture at large - and how I would fit in with it. As with any place, there's a variety of experiences people had. Here are some of mine, as well as thoughts and some photos I took along the way. Being in Argentina has already showed me the beauty in slowing down.
