Brianna Perry: Trash or Treasure
I haven't posted a genuine blog looking in-depth on modern music in a while, so WHALA! Here it is. The June 2012 Ebony Mag issue is in (LOVE IT!) and it's the annual music issue. One of the new artists it countered is Brianna Perry, a new rapper. Now I don't know about everyone else, but a diverse female rapping industry seems like it would be SO much better than a one-woman controlled one (ahem, Nicki baby). The beat is head-bobbingly catchy, but are the words good enough to break into Nicki's worl- I mean the female rap industry? According to some critics (Thank you, Youtube for provinding critics), her verses are kind of shallow, but the way Nicki's music has been declining lately may give her an opening and a chance to grow.
