Oh knit hats, how I love thee! Ever since I was a baby, hats were a fashion statement of mine. It hurts that we aren't allowed to wear hats to school (Hallways aren't runways, I guess), but who says I can't do some styling any other time? This is something that will be a continuous topic. I've been noticing that at my High School (and almost everywhere else), everyone is conforming Now, I'm not calling everyone a bunch of follow-the-leader-idiots... But why do we conform? According to my teacher, it's EASY!!! And he was right! Isn't it EASY to buy a North Face...though we live in the Midwest? Isn't it EASY to buy a pair of True Religion or Mek jeans, when its obvious that we are middle class? Isn't is EASY to buy an Audi instead of a Chevy? Some Uggs instead of...Nike shoes...isn't it EASY? The truth is, in today's society, conformity can't be escaped. We as humans like to be in a bubble of non-judgement. Wearing those $200 jeans or that $100 jacket may hurt your paycheck (or your PARENTS paycheck), but boy doesn't it help reputation. We literally have people walking around in ALL namebrand...not necessarily because of fashion, but to fit in. The desire to fit is

So last night was it, Homecoming Dance Night!! What can I say? I had a great time with my girls! Well actually, the DJ wasn't all that great (He played ICE-ICE BABY!!! WHY?!) But I made the best out of my night (and my $15!) Afterwards,the gals and I went out to Ramshorn :) Here's what I wore!! I loved it! So tomorrow is Friday!! Y a y ! It's officially October, which means Homecoming Season! This week was my Spirit Week!!! Yay!!! Monday was College Day: Rep a college that you like...or represent your state! (Go Michigan!) Tuesday was Think Pink Day: Because this is also BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!!! Wednesday was Class Color Day: JUNIORS were black... 2013!!! Woop!! Thursday(today) was Circus Day: I wore a top hat headband! There were stripes and animal print everywhere! Friday is Eagle Pride Day: School colors all over the place! The perfect way to start official Homecoming Game day! Blue and White! The game is where the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced, and everyone goes. Saturday is the Homecoming Dance!!!!! So what am I wearing??? So yesterday (yes, I know.... should've posted yesterday) was the first REAL event for the AKA Teens!!! The Financial Literacy conferance!!!! Basically, we host an event for teens and adults where we become more prepared, whether its for: College prep Buying a house Decreasing debt Starting a business Everything you need to be Financially literate!! Nothing big happened, but then again nothing big happens in the beginning.... so be patient!!! This series will get more and more awesome/dramatic as time goes on!!!! Yes, so I've been gone...but I want you to know that I've been gone In love and in style!!! I've been practically LIVING in my blue jean jacket!! I've dressed it up, dressed it down...dressed it all around, and I'm not done yet!!!!!! Today I paired my jacket with a plain white tee, a pink cami underneath, a flower-and-heart pink and white hearts/flowers necklace, pink heart shaped floral studs, dark wash jeans, and flats. My hair is just curly (I moussed it and sprayed it with Olive Oil) love the necklace!! earrings! Necklace! How has everyone been? How's school/work/life goin' for ya? XOXO -S

As you go into another week of life

Today was my very first meeting of my third year as an AKA Teen! My life as a debutante has started backup! What did we talk about? Just: • The debutante ball at the end of the season • Expectations • Selling tickets/ads • GPA blah blah I don't have much to say about todays meeting, so I'm just showing you what I wore!! How do you like it?

Going through my computer and look what I found! Oh my goodness! It's crazy to know that even at 3 and 4 years old I was STILL doing lovely things! I remember my very first recital... well... not in full detail. Just think, activities like this turned me into the girl I am today... It truly is amazing, to just look back at myself :) When was the last time you took a trip down Memory Lane? Did you remember something good, something meaningful? XOXO -S

Hair Post! Did something reeaally different with my locks today, a braided pony-tail updo type thing! (If anyone has a better name, please let me know!)  Basically what I did was put a loose plait/braid across the top of my head and past my ear to the back of my head. Then I put the braid- along with the rest of my hair- in a ponytail. It's a different touch on the plain ol' ponytail! Side-ish view (Rocking my Guys and Dolls  show shirt!) I'm lovin' it! Usually, to school I'll wear a cardigan over a plain shirt paired with jeans. Or I'll wear a cute tee with jeans. I have an assortment of flats, gym shoes, etc. I tried going a bit vintage today. School is in, football season is in, and all of those lovey dovey couples are together. Well, maybe not ALL of them. I was recently asked a very very good question...
