I've seen many people with them, but not all have that "look" that I like. Call me weird, oh well. Now, they have become a really big trend. Many people call them "Poetic Justice braids" because they favor the hair style Janet Jackson wore in the popular movie. However, they are NOT the same thing. And it truly hurts my heart to see that many are doing everything in their will to not "be black"! Today's media seems to be anti-not-white. Not only blacks, but also Hispanics, Asians, and Arab Americans are depicted negatively and stereotyped DAY AFTER DAY! Being someone who wants to go into media, I really hope to change this. Hey! I've really been trying to update up to every other day. I can't stay long, my school is having a College Application preparation night! Still can't believe I'm a senior! After school, I went to the club meeting room with the teacher sponsor, and there were 4 kids there interested! I thought "Four...well not too bad considering we only advertised via poster boards and flyers." Then, four MORE people came in! I was excited, people wanted to JOIN my club! THEN, four MORE people came in!!! 12 people! The meeting went great, it's a nice group of people and we've already planned what we'll be doing for the next month! Then, when my mom brought pizza for us, they APPLAUDED us!! This was just an awesome first meeting overall. Hello all! I was trying to hold off on blogging until I got some time on a computer/laptop, but I've resorted to the blogger app on my phone. You may have heard me complaining and saying that it sucks, well it does! Anyway! What's been UP? Anything significant? Well, I've got lots going on. Shall we: Last week was homecoming week. It was fun and I really enjoyed myself. This is the only year that I've worm braids instead of my real hair (dreaded hair cut), but I still loved my look. I used to have Newspaper/Yearbook as a class. And boy was I excited to get a taste of journalism! But alas, turns out the class was a blow off class that no one ever did any type of work in, not to mention the teacher showed a LOT of favoritism. SO, I dropped the class, and boy am I happy I did! Now I get to write/record for the town's newspaper!! I was even on the front page! I am doing GREAT in AP Calc right now!! Very proud. But, AP Econ? Another story. I'll keep trying ...
