Looks of the Week: Ballin' on a Budget!

Hey there! Cheers to the freakin' weekend! Even though I can't legally drink to that, I'm still extremely excited for another weekend of fun in the Big Apple!

Coming to New York means that I've witnessed some intense style from different cultures and backgrounds - all so easy to love! Check out some of my looks from this week as I bring some D-Town flair to the Northeast.

Look 1:
For this look: I paired a Chambray button-up top from American Eagle with a white crop top from Rue 21, army green capri pants from Old Navy, and a pair of all white Nike Air Max.

 Look 2:
This look, a little more dressed up, combined: A maroon blouse from Forever 21, a beige blazer from Avon, dark wash denim pants from H&M (curvy chicks, they were only $20!), and stacked sandals from Deb Shops. Not seen: my watch that I received as a gift.
Look 3:
I went out into the city with this fun look: An Ankara head wrap that I purchased from a festival in Detroit, a see-through top from American Eagle, another pair of those to-die-for H&M pants (hey, when stuff fits, I get every pair. Pear shaped struggles are real), and some mini-stacked sandals from Amazon!
Now, I've got to find a nice thrift store so that this ballin' on a budget can continue into the summer! Until next time...

Remember Why You Started

Monday started another week of shuffling through LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Jopwell and other various job boards. Another week of sending my resumé out into a black hole and crossing my fingers that this would be the "one." Monday started another week of asking for grace so that I would no longer have to dread hearing that "so, what are your plans for after graduation?" question. Luckily, Monday didn't end the way it started. Bienvenidos a Argentina: Be Kind to Yourself

Today marks the end of 2017's first full week! I hope the year is off to a rejuvinating start for everyone. Oh, and today also marks the end of my first week in Buenos Aires, Argentina! For those of you who don't know, I'll be interning here until the end of March. As any journalist would, I definitely did my homework on Argentina before getting here. The food, the music, the culture at large - and how I would fit in with it. As with any place, there's a variety of experiences people had. Here are some of mine, as well as thoughts and some photos I took along the way. Being in Argentina has already showed me the beauty in slowing down. In the U.S., and ESPECIALLY at universities like Northwestern, it is extremely normalized to stay busy and moving at 300000 mph. If we're idle, we're being inefficient.
